Ellis Olson

Ellis Olson started carving over 40 years ago and throughout those years developed his own distinct carving style and unique designs. His carvings no doubt number in the thousands and what you see today is the result of Ellis’ work over all those years. He carves with only the finest northern basswood and most of the painting is with thin acrylic washes. Sandpaper never touches the carved surface so you can clearly see his bold knife cuts. The carvings are finished with coats of clear satin Polyurethane, sometimes mounted on a myrtlewood base and always signed on the bottom.
