Good King Wenceslas - Like the popular Christmas carol, this Santa carving parallels the story of braving a harsh winter journey. The face and eyes display confidence and good spirits and his heavily cloaked body is flanked by a winter fox and snowshoe hare in stride. These amazingly carved and painted animals are both pegged and fitted perfectly to the sides of Santa's wintery coat painted in hues of red, pink and lavender, accented with gold and turquoise colorful filigree. A very rare combination of Santa carving with animals incorporated into the design, beautifully themed and coordinated. All solid wood, hand carved and painted and signed by the artist Rasskazova.
