Atop a circular wood carved base painted as a tree slice, this whimsical Russian Santa journeys along. The carving has Santa walking with his long coat dangling in the wind. Checkered patterns and paisley filigree perfectly accent the joyful nature of this Santa carving. Most of this colorful piece is highlighted with raised accents of blue, gold, red and pearl. With Santa's beard painted with holly berries and his happpy blue eyes he carries a staff in one hand and a lantern in the other to light the way on Christmas Eve. All hand carved, solid wood, meticulously crafted Russian Santa Claus figure signed by the artist.
