Rocking Horse Santa with Wood Burned detailing

A wonderfully rich Santa on a rocking horse with detailed scenes on each side of the horse. One side features the snowmaiden with deer and birds on a winter landscape surrounded by gifts and ornaments. The other side has a couple of children with dog, cat and a jolly snowman all surrounded by colorful presents. The detailing on this Santa is created by a very unique wood burning technique, requiring thousands of individual burn strokes. The hair and beard, dark fur trim, floral patterns, scenes, everything of detail has been burned into the wood prior to applying the beautiful washes of paint. The result is a very rich and textured piece of art. Hand carved, solid wood, one of a kind Santa figure signed by the artist, Dmitrakova.
