Santa and a Winter Wonderland - Russian Santa

Winter wonderland - a very large and dimensional carving of Santa with oversized toybag sitting on a panoramic base painted in snow scenes and 3 troikas racing in the woods, or perhaps depicting maslenitsa - a celebration of the end of winter with sleigh rides and lots of fun. Colorfully painted and extremely detailed from every angle Santa wears traditional red and accented with metallic silver and beads of white and violet throughout. A bird rests comfortably in Santa's hand. A wonderfully unique Santa carving. Wooden Russian Santas  are hand carved from solid linden, also known as either basswood or lime. Once carved and sanded the Santa is then hand painted and finished in individually unique detail with numerous coats of paint and sealer and finally signed or initialed by the artist. This carving weighs approximataly 8 lbs and is very stout.
