Welcoming Christmas - An extraordinary hand crafted Santa Claus both in terms of the technical carving as well as the beautiful painting throughout. Measuring a massive 20 inches tall and 15 inches wide Santa's open arms hold two squirrels with a colorful string of wooden ornaments perfecly framing Santas captivating face and eyes. The squirrels are pegged and removable from each hand for safe shipping. The entirety of the Santa himself is carved out of a single piece of wood, no small feat considering the overall dimensions of this piece. A wintery village scene features a multitude of holiday magic with seven children, a freshly decorated snowman, cat and several winter birds enjoying the company. Santa's fur trimmed coat is painted in a deep blue with white accents matching his beautiful eyes. A remarkable piece of art from head to toe. This Russian Santa Claus is hand carved from solid linden, also known as either basswood or lime. Once carved and sanded the Santa is meticulously hand painted and finished in extraordinary detail with numerous coats and finally signed or initialed by the artist.
