Wood Burned Rocking Santa with Christmas Stocking

A rich fuchsia toned Russian Santa holding an oversized stocking with gifts. The top of the stocking opens to reveal a hidden compartment (money not included). There is far too much individual detail to list as well as a wonderful scene of three children openening colorfully wrapped presents with cats, a snowman and even birds in company. The detailing on this Santa is created by a very unique wood burning technique, requiring thousands of individual burn strokes. The hair and beard, dark fur trim, floral patterns, scenes, everything of detail has been burned into the wood prior to applying the beautiful washes of paint. The result is a very rich and textured piece of art. Hand carved, solid wood, one of a kind Santa figure signed by the artist, Dmitrakova.
